Eddystone Pattern 1917, cal. 30-06 spring.

One of the best-known US military rifle, made even more famous by the heroic action of Sergeant Alvin York, who, armed with a P.17 and a Colt 1911, in the Argonne forest silenced 35 German machine guns that were wiping out the American troops and took 132 prisoners, obtaining on the field the promotion to the superior degree and, above all, the Medal of Honor.

The rifle has a Mauser bolt action system with the same appearance and proportions are those of P.14, while the caliber is the American standard 30-06 Springfield.

Our Model 1917 rifle was made in 1918 and, although subject to refurbishment for use as Lend-Lease weapons for the WWII aid program to the Allied Nation.

The rifle is in good conditions, with a very nice stock and a bright bore that is still in condition to express its best in shooting matches, where the P.17 is often an absolute protagonist.
