U.S. Remington M1903-A1 dated 10-42, cal. 30-06 spring.

Beautiful and iconic, the 1903 was the rifle who armed the US Army during the first half of the 20th century.

The rifle is interely original, as can be deduced from the serial number, the marks on the barrel (RA 10-42 with flaming bomb), on the bolt and in other parts, and it was produced by Remington Arms in that batch of M1903 rifles that, starting from september 1941, were made using equipment and tools belonged to the Rock Island arsenal.

This first series of M1903 rifles, to which our model belongs, has serial number between the 3,000,655 and 3,330,000 and those rifle are identical to the Rock Island production, with parts milled and with the presence of the gas vent hole in the left side of the receiver, called "Hatcher Hole".

As can be seen from the photos in this page, the rifle is in excellent condition: the walnut stock has no dents or scratches and the metal finishes are excellent.

The barrel is original and measures 61 cm; it has an excellent 4-groove rifling which diameter between the lands misures 0,3005".

Really hard to find item with excellent collectible value.
