Revolver produced in 1980, model 36, barrel 1.8", caliber 38 Special, frame J.

Revolver in minty conditionsfeatures checkered wood grips, adjustable sights, 6-shots cylinder, barrel and hammer pinned.

Original bluing in excellent condition. This handgun, in excellent mechanical and structural condition, works in single and double action, with a particularly fluid trigger.

The Chief’s Special proved to be a popular revolver for personal protection due to its size and weight. In 1957 Smith & Wesson begun to number its models and it became the Model 36


This small revolver was designed primarily for plainclothesmen and off-duty police officers. It made its public debut at The International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in 1950 where the police chiefs voted on its name suggesting .38 Chief’s Special.
