Mauser FN Herstal K98 sporterized, cal. 308 

A ex-military surplus carbine produced by Fabrique Nationale D'Armes De Guerre in Herstal, Belgium, in .308 Winchester caliber and sporterized for hunting use with the replacement of the stock and the addition of a Burris E1 Fullfield scope with 2-7x variable magnification.

The result is an FN K98 carbine, already highly regarded for its balance, handling, and reliability, capable of combining the solidity, simplicity, and smoothness of the Mauser action with the versatility of the .308 Win cartridge, creating an ideal condition for a wide variety of uses, from hunting medium to large game to sport shooting.

The stock lacks a handguard, is made of laminated wood, is very well-kept, nice-looking, and without defects.

The metal finish is mixed, with some parts blued (barrel, bolt, and trigger guard) and others left with a mirror polish (specifically the receiver and some bolt components).

The barrel has a tapered profile and is made in three sections with a decreasing diameter towards the muzzle.

On the left side of the receiver, the original proof marks of the Belgian rifle are visible, while the caliber is stamped on the right side.

It mounts a Weaver base on which quick-detachable rings and a Burris E1 Fullfield 2x-7x scope with a Ballistic Plex reticle are anchored (a central cross with aiming points for bullet drop compensation at different distances) and turrets with 1/2 MOA per click adjustable point of impact.
