Cross-in-Sunburst 1900/06 Swiss Contract Luger cal. 7,65 para 

This is a beautiful and very rare to find (especially in these conditions) DWM pistol model 1900/06 "Cross in the Sunburst" produced in late 1908 by DWM. It is totally original and matching serial numbers.

Collector's weapon in excellent condition, it was part of the Swiss contract by wich the DWM produced In the period from 1906 to 1909 just over 4,000 pistols model 1900/06 with the "Cross in the Sunburst" emblem roll stamped on the top of the cartridge chamber. These 1906 Luger had a serial number range from 5001 up to 9050. This model was followed by "Cross in the Shield" model having serials from 9051 to 15215 (6165 pistols for military use).

The barrel measures 120 mm and has perfect and clean grooves, with a mirror bright bore. The muzzle crown has an intact and clean profile.

The handgun has its original, correctly unregistered, magazine containing 8 rounds which an elegant wooden magazine plate provided with two grip discs, and shiny, stain-free metal parts.

The wooden grips are finely checkered as standard of the first DWM production, without fractures or chippings and have the same serial of the weapon.

The gun weighs, unloads, 905 grams and has semi-automatic operation, with a three-hinged knee jointed arm to lock.

The serial number is 4 digits and is entirely reported on the lower part of the barrel and on the front of the frame, while in the other parts its last 2 or 3 digits are engraved.

The extractor has the word GELADEN (load) on its left side, which appears when a cartridge is inserted in the chamber and is lifted upwards.

The rear toggle link has flat checkered knobs.

The gun is equipped with two safety devices, a grip safety, always inserted and automatically removed by gripping the weapon, and a manual thumb safety, controlled by the golden safety catch on the rear of the left side of the frame.

Like all the DWM from the beginning of the last century, this 1900/06 has a fine hi-quality rust blue finish on the main metal parts with the internal side left clear. The ejector, the magazine catch/release, the takedown lever, the connecting pin, the thumb safety lever and the trigger  are straw colored.

All the marking on the handgun are in perfect condition, the main of which are:

- DWM initials on the top of the rear toggle link.

- Cross in the Sunburst roll stamped on the outer top of the cartridge chamber.

- small crosses of Geneva.

- Swiss Army Acceptance Proof of Major Vogelsang (Cross with V).

- P 62 Swiss "Privatwaffe" mark with the year of the privat purchase.

- The stag horn is used by the proof house in Ulm, Germany and the AB letters, corresponding to the year of the 2001 test.

- 7.65 PARA in the lower part of the cartridge chamber.

- H on the lower surface of the wooden mag bottom.
