WWII B&C Landlicht Zielfernrohrbau Berlin Mod. C 4x81 Scope

This is a German ZF Landlicht C 4x81 rifle scope.

Gerard Landlicht, a former Zeiss employee, began his own production of military optics in Charlottenburg, near Berlin, in the early 1900s. In 1928, his business merged into a new company, also based in Berlin, called Landlicht Zielfernrohrbau. This company continued to produce military rifle optics throughout World War II.

The scope presented here is in good mechanical condition with clear lenses and no dust inclusions. The steel tube shows some external pitting that doesn't compromise its robustness or functionality. It features a focus adjustment ring, an elevation adjustment turret with a screw locking system, and claw mounts for attachment to the weapon.

The manufacturer's name, Landlicht Zielfernrohrbau Berlin, is on the right side of the adjustment turret, while the serial number 62494 is engraved on the left side of the same turret.

The optic features the classic German "German 1" military reticle with three references extending from the edge almost to the center of the lens (two horizontal and one vertical in the lower semicircle), while the upper half is clear.
